PRIZES - WEYMOUTH SPEED WEEK 2007 Thanks was given to all those who assisted the organisers of the 35th Weymouth Speed Week, including the staff of Weymouth and Portland Borough Council and the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy. Since offering his help four years ago Pete Davis has been able to gain fantastic support for the event from many sponsors. This year Dakine were the title sponsor thanks to the support of Graeme Fuller of Surf Sales, whose brands also included Exocet, Tabou and Gaastra. In addition prizes were donated by Ultra Sport - F2 and Maui Sails, Tushingham - Starboard, Fiberspar, Spartan Wetsuits, Windtek (who sponsored the Saturday night party), Boardwise, Maui Jim Sunglasses and Club Vass. Red Bull provided drink, Windsurf Magazine provided advertising space for the event. For many years the Amateur Yach Research Society has been an enthusiastic supporter of the event and this year was no exception. A number of AYRS members helped during the week and once again the Society provided the coveted tankards awarded each day to the fastest kite, sailboard and boat as well as two prizes for the week, one to the design showing the most innovation and one to the person who best epitomises the 'Spirit of Weymouth Speed Week'.
