 At the Chilli night on the 5th of October 2000 at the Castle Cove Sailing Club Brian Wilkins was presented with a Medal from the Organisers and Competitors of Weymouth Speed Week 2000. Since the inception of Speed Week in 1972, Brian and his boat Lollipop have been to the fore directing traffic on the course, giving free advice to the competitors and supporting the event in his own style. He has been involved the event for 28 years and the medal signified the appreciation of everyone past and present for the hard work he has done over the years. The Medal and Certificate, which was signed by everyone attending Weymouth Speed Week this year, was presented by Robert Downhill on behalf of everyone associated with Weymouth Speed Week.
