 Pete Martin number 181 used Neil Pryde sails. He also makes some of his own boards. At Speed Week he used an AHD 300, an F2 Thommen 275 and a 280 'needle' with narrow pintail. This board is 8 years old and still in development! Its length helps it cope with chop. However the very narrow tail has led Pete to develop a raised rear foot platform of greater width than the tail of the board. This adds to board control and keeps his rear foot out of the water. Pete sails at Grafham Water, his best speed there is 31.2 knots, at Weymouth he achieved 29.26 knots.
