 This board was designed and built over ten years ago by Bob Spagnoletti, it achieved over 33 knots then! The design concept was to step the hull so that the optimum angle of incidence to give maximum L/D could be more readily achieved. The forward hull, or dinner plate as it became to be known as, is held on by straps. Bob sailed it again at Speed Week 1999, renewed his interest, and is now planning on making an updated version for Speed Week 2000. With a modern fin and sail it could be very impressive.
