Often when several people get together to achieve something the various difficulties and set backs along the way cause tensions within the group. To help guide us, and to ensure we all knew what we had signed up to we put together the following:

1.0 Objective

1.1 By provision of a timing system help to ensure that Weymouth Speed Week runs successfully each year and continues as an enjoyable event for both professional and amateur alike

2.0 Policy

2.1 To develop timing equipment and result production techniques that will maximise the competitor’s appreciation of the organisation and yet minimise the administrative burden of running a speed week.

2.2 To use the equipment at other sailing events throughout the year to foster interest in Weymouth Speed Week

2.3 To advertise by the production of news releases to the appropriate press, posters to shops and by means of a web site.

2.4 Those involved shall be limited to a small team willing to contribute time, skills and equipment, as they are able.

2.5 The equipment developed will become the shared property of the team.

 3.0 Procedure

3 All expenditure will be recorded. If income is generated by use of the timing equipment then by agreement of the team repayment of costs pro rata or further investment in timing equipment may take place.

3.1 A development plan will be followed. This plan will be set and revised as necessary by the team. The plan will be designed to ensure that logical incremental progression in the functionality of the equipment can be achieved at minimum risk.

3.2 The team will agree the entrance fees set for events.
